SIC codes were the standard industry classification system until NAICS was adopted in 1997. Some databases, reports, and older systems still reference SIC codes. Each SIC code corresponds to one or more NAICS codes.
Example
SIC code 7371 (Computer Programming Services) corresponds to NAICS code 541511.
