Eligibility Requirements

  • At least 51% owned by qualifying individuals
  • Michigan-based business
  • U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident
  • Independent operation and management

1. Register in Michigan vendor portal 2. Complete certification application online 3. Submit required documentation 4. Undergo review and potential site visit 5. Certification decision

National Certifications Recognized

May accept NMSDC, WBENC certifications

If you hold these certifications, Michigan may accept them in lieu of or to expedite state certification.
