CAGE codes are required for companies doing business with the Department of Defense or participating in federal procurement. U.S. businesses receive a CAGE code automatically when registering in SAM.gov. International companies receive an NCAGE (NATO CAGE) code.
Example
When registering in SAM.gov, a contractor receives a unique 5-character CAGE code like "1ABC2".
