A unique 9-digit identifier previously used for business registration in federal systems, now replaced by UEI.

How Data Universal Numbering System works in supplier diversity
DUNS numbers were issued by Dun & Bradstreet and required for SAM.gov registration until April 2022. The federal government has transitioned to the Unique Entity Identifier (UEI). Businesses that registered before the transition may still reference their DUNS number.
