SLB Vendor Registration: There Is No Open Portal

There is no SLB vendor registration page to fill in. The route is a short form that reaches a regional supply chain team, then an invitation into Ariba Sourcing if SLB has a need you fit.

SLB, the company formerly called Schlumberger, does not run an open vendor registration page. Its "Become a Supplier to SLB" page lists what SLB requires of suppliers, and its contact route for a company that wants to sell is the Speak with Supply Chain form on slb.com. If SLB has a need that fits, sourcing happens in SAP Ariba Sourcing, by invitation to a sourcing event.

So the work is in two places: getting your capabilities in front of the right regional supply chain team, and being ready to clear SLB's compliance requirements when they invite you.

How to approach SLB, step by step

  1. Open the Speak with Supply Chain form (linked as "Contact Supply Chain" on SLB's Become a Supplier page).
  2. Pick your region precisely. U.S. options are split by basin and area: US Land California, Midcontinent, Northeast, Rockies, South Texas, Southeast and West Texas, plus North Gulf Coast. A West Texas service company that picks a generic region is asking its message to be forwarded twice.
  3. Choose up to four business portfolio codes. SLB says the "closest code will assure your query reaches the right Team." Match them to the SLB business lines you would actually support, not to everything you could do.
  4. Use a business email address, which SLB asks for so it can respond.
  5. Write your capabilities in the comment box. This field is the whole pitch. Name what you supply, where you operate, your safety record and the certifications you hold. A one-page capability statement condensed to a paragraph works well here.
  6. Confirm SLB's terms. The form requires it, and warns that local supply chain teams "may add specific region based T&C."

If SLB invites you: how sourcing works

SLB's page for existing suppliers explains the mechanics, and they apply the moment you are invited.

  • Ariba Sourcing is the official tool for supplier offers. You respond to requests for information and sourcing events there. You need an Ariba Standard account, which costs nothing to set up.
  • Bids are evaluated on quality, service, compliance to specifications and price. SLB says its aim is to give existing and potential suppliers the same opportunity to compete through sourcing events.
  • No purchase order, no work. The PO is SLB's primary purchasing method. You need a valid, preapproved PO before you deliver goods or services or submit an invoice, and SLB reserves the right to reject an invoice without one.
  • Ariba Network is becoming the main channel. SLB says it is implementing a single SAP solution across the company, with Ariba Network as the primary channel for procure-to-pay. Acknowledge every PO in the system to confirm dates, quantities and delivery terms.

What SLB requires before any award

SLB's Become a Supplier page is mostly a list of obligations. Read them before you contact supply chain, because they decide whether you pass onboarding.

RequirementWhat SLB says
Terms and conductAll suppliers comply with SLB's purchase terms, contracts and Code of Conduct. Its standard purchase order terms are dated August 2026.
Anti-corruptionCompliance with all applicable laws, including the U.S. Foreign Corrupt Practices Act and the UK Bribery Act 2010. Facilitation payments are prohibited.
Compliance assessmentsSLB may assess suppliers, and tells them what is required during onboarding.
Human rightsIts Working Conditions Requirements; no use of child labor, forced labor or human trafficking, directly or indirectly.
EmissionsSuppliers agree to contribute to SLB's greenhouse gas reduction initiatives under its Supplier Environmental Sustainability terms.

SLB also limits what its own procurement staff may do, which tells you how not to sell. They may not attend entertainment or social events hosted by anyone taking part in an open or pending tender, and may not accept gifts above nominal value. Pitch on capability and price, and do not invite the buyer to dinner during a bid.

If you supplied ChampionX

SLB has completed its acquisition of ChampionX, and says ChampionX continues to exist under the SLB umbrella. Its supplier FAQ says processes, systems, contacts and invoicing did not change at closing, and that any later change will be formally communicated. If you supply one company but not the other, SLB says you may need to set up new entities to serve the other, and your point of contact will send the onboarding documents.

What SLB does not publish

None of SLB's supplier pages we read describes a supplier diversity program, lists accepted certifications, names a small business liaison or gives a spend figure. We state none. If you hold a certification, name it in the capabilities box anyway; SLB's pages simply do not say how it is weighed.

Your next step: open SLB's Speak with Supply Chain form, select your exact basin region and closest portfolio codes, and paste a five-line capabilities summary into the comment box.
