How to Become a SpaceX Supplier: The Form, Not the Portal

supplierportal.spacex.com is a sign-in page for companies SpaceX already buys from. A new supplier's way in is the Become a Supplier form, and SpaceX's own page says what kind of supplier it looks for.

New suppliers do not start in the SpaceX Supplier Portal. The portal at supplierportal.spacex.com is a sign-in page for companies SpaceX already buys from. A company that wants to sell to SpaceX starts on spacex.com/supplier, under "Interested in doing business with us?", and clicks Become a Supplier, which opens SpaceX's supplier submission form.

That one page is most of what SpaceX publishes for prospective suppliers, so it is worth reading closely.

What SpaceX says it wants

Two sentences on SpaceX's supplier page set the terms.

The first: "SpaceX is committed to including diverse suppliers in our sourcing process, which enhances our ability to provide the most reliable, high-quality, and cost-effective products and services."

The second: "While SpaceX develops and manufactures its technologies and products in-house, often times we can leverage specialized, small, nimble, or local suppliers that enable us to achieve our goals."

Read together, they describe the realistic opening. SpaceX makes most of what it flies itself, so it is not shopping for someone to build a whole subsystem. It does buy from firms that do one specialized thing well, that are small enough to move fast, or that are close to its sites. If your pitch is "we can do everything," it is the wrong pitch here.

How to apply

  1. Read spacex.com/supplier, then choose Become a Supplier. The form sits behind a browser security check, so open it in an ordinary browser; an automated tool or an aggressive privacy extension may not get through.
  2. Lead with your one specialty. Given what SpaceX says it looks for, describe the specific process, part, material or service you are best at, with tolerances, capacity and lead times, not a list of every capability.
  3. Say where you are. "Local" is one of the four qualities SpaceX names. If you operate near a SpaceX site, say so plainly.
  4. Name your certifications and quality system. SpaceX's public pages do not list the certifications or quality standards it requires, so state what you hold rather than guessing what it wants. If you are a diverse-owned business, include the certification; SpaceX's page says it includes diverse suppliers in sourcing.
  5. Keep your capability statement ready. If a SpaceX buyer follows up, a one-page capability statement is the fastest way to answer.

SpaceX does not publish a response time or a contact address for supplier inquiries on its public pages. Plan as though you may not hear back unless there is a current need.

The Supplier Portal, for companies already selling to SpaceX

The Sign In link on SpaceX's supplier page goes to supplierportal.spacex.com, which hands off to SpaceX's sign-in. As of November 6, 2026, that page carries two notices worth knowing if you already have an account:

  • Supplier Portal sign-in has changed. SpaceX says the first login may take a few tries; if it still fails, enter your email and use Forgot password.
  • After February 28, 2027, you must reset your password to keep access to the portal.

The sign-in page also warns that the system holds sensitive company and government information protected by U.S. law, and that use is monitored. That is a reminder that some SpaceX work touches government programs, with the handling rules that come with them.

One more change: SpaceX's legal page, where suppliers used to look for purchase terms, now redirects to the same Supplier Portal sign-in. If you are quoting work, ask your SpaceX contact for the terms that apply to your order rather than relying on an old copy.

What SpaceX does not publish

SpaceX's public supplier pages list no certifications it accepts, no spend or diversity figures, no commodity categories it is sourcing, no quality manual and no supplier contact address. We state none of those here. If a third-party site lists SpaceX "supplier requirements," check it against spacex.com first; we found no public SpaceX page that sets them out.

If your business is built for aerospace and defense work, SpaceX is one door among several. Our defense and aerospace supplier guide covers the wider market, our Boeing supplier guide covers a buyer with a more formal process, and how to sell to NASA covers the federal side. If you are not yet certified, start with the certification overview.

Your next step: write three sentences on the one thing your company does better than anyone near a SpaceX site, then submit them through Become a Supplier on spacex.com/supplier.

Checked November 6, 2026: SpaceX, Suppliers (spacex.com/supplier) and its Become a Supplier form; the SpaceX Supplier Portal sign-in reached from supplierportal.spacex.com; spacex.com/legal, which now redirects to that sign-in.
