Program overview
How City of New York (Department of Small Business Services)'s supplier diversity program works.
New York City Small Business Services certifies minority and women-owned business enterprises, plus emerging and locally-based business enterprises, for city contracting. M/WBE firms must be at least 51% owned, operated and controlled by U.S. citizens or permanent residents who are women or members of designated minority groups. Certified firms are listed in the NYC Online Directory of Certified Businesses. Firms certified by partners such as the Port Authority or NGLCC can use a faster track.
