Program overview
How New York City Public Schools's supplier diversity program works.
New York City Public Schools, also known as the NYC Department of Education, is the largest school district in the country. Its Office of Supplier Diversity works to enable meaningful participation by Minority and Women-owned Business Enterprises, and the Division of Contracts and Purchasing establishes contracts for all goods and services. NYCPS is not a certifying agency: firms certify through NYC Small Business Services or New York State Empire State Development and bring the credential. The NYCPS Vendor Portal is a separate system from the City's Payee Information Portal and PASSPort, and registering in it is what joins the NYCPS bidders list. Purchases include educational supplies and programs, professional development, office and custodial supplies, health services, special education related services, and IT and facilities support.
