How Volkswagen Group of America's supplier diversity program works.
Volkswagen Group of America publishes its Supplier Diversity Program as Appendix G of its general procurement RFQ terms, served on vwgroupsupply.com, the Volkswagen Group platform where suppliers register and bid. The document, revised January 9, 2025, states the goal of including minority (MBE), women (WBE), veteran (VBE), and LGBTQ business firms in the supply of construction, equipment, services, and vehicle components, and sets a target of committing 10 percent of total annual spend to certified MBE suppliers and 2 percent to certified WBE suppliers. Tier 1 bidders on work over $1 million may be asked to report Tier 2 and Tier 3 diverse participation monthly or quarterly, and to submit certificates from the National Minority Supplier Development Council, the Women's Business Enterprise National Council, the National Veteran Business Development Council, or the National LGBT Chamber of Commerce for each proposed diverse joint venture, subcontractor, or material supplier. The program covers Volkswagen Group of America, the Reston, Virginia subsidiary of Volkswagen AG.
