WBENC certifies Women Business Enterprises through 14 Regional Partner Organizations, and the certification process, verified at wbenc.org on August 7, 2026, sets a fee schedule from $350 for firms under $1 million in annual revenue up to $1,250 for firms over $50 million, plus a 3 percent credit card processing fee on applications effective July 1, 2026. The ownership and control test requires the business be at least 51 percent owned, controlled, operated, and managed by a woman or women. WBENC counts more than 500 corporations that recognize the credential, and the Regional Partner Organization review generally takes 90 days from the date a file is deemed complete.
Lenders build financing programs around WBE certification for the same reason they build around MBE: a public WBENC record is a faster ownership and control check than diligence built from scratch. SupplierDiversity.com's lender directory currently lists 36 financing programs, out of 53 total, that name WBE certification as a qualifying credential, the second most of any certification we track after MBE.
